I’ve made it so that the main family I play are well known in their circles (like the Duggars are), with loads of people trying to marry into fundamentalist christian royalty. So the guy (from one of my main fundie households, he’s number 6/13, so right after the teen above ?) courted her and proposed to her quite quickly once he realised the gravity of her situation. The second couple is where i really got creative, the reason they got married very young is cause the girls dad is abusive and marriage is the only way out for girls in that society. Now that they’re married she wears pants, but whenever shes at her parents house and at family functions she dresses in a skirt thats knee length rather than floor length ? The girl is child number 5 of 13 was raised in a household where they had to cover up modestly and wear skirts only (which she did because her parents demanded it, but she always disliked it as shes sporty and always played basketball with her brothers) The only way out of her parents house is by marriage, so she got married as a teen to a guy who’d let her wear pants and who doesnt want to have fiftyleven children. I’ve actually just finished having 2 teens from the same household get married - the first couple, the guy is a YA and the girl is in the last week of her teens (play it on long lifespan). Irl they’ve had their children get married and start pumping out kids as teens, so I’m doing the same in my game for accuracy, but I’m also writing in different plots for them to spice up my game. The game i’m playing now is emulating the duggars (from 19 kids and counting) and people like them. Please share your thoughts so I can gather some insight! Is it merely just finding enjoyment in playing with a busy teenager trying to balance school, work, homemaking, and parenting all in one go? It doesn't appeal to me in the slightest and while there's nothing wrong with an "unconventional" family as society likes to call anything familial that's outside of societal norms, and I'm just genuinely curious about why some people enjoy this concept so much.
interesting how this seems to be a common theme. Obviously what Simmers do in their games is absolutely none of my business to comment or pass judgment on. SimLicy and Aveline, two YouTubers for example, have a lot of "teen parent" or "single teen mom" builds for homes and apartments - which, in all honestly, isn't inherently sensible or practical - and I just don't understand it. Some Simmers seem to have an obsession, for lack of a better word, with teen pregnancy and teen parenting in The Sims 4, as I've been seeing a lot of it over the past couple of months. I'm just struggling to understand a concept and I figured the best way to shine a light on other ways of thinking would be to ask the Sims community.
